Our Mission

At Clearlake Oaks County Water District, we are dedicated to providing safe, high-quality drinking water to our community while maintaining a strong commitment to excellent customer service and environmental stewardship.

In 1949, the California State Legislature established a type of water agency known as a County Water District under California Water Code Section 30000. There are approximately 165 County Water Districts throughout California—and we are proud to be one of them.

A County Water District is an independent public agency and is not affiliated with or governed by county government. Clearlake Oaks County Water District is overseen by its own independently elected Board of Directors, separate from any county board of supervisors. While the word “County” in our name can sometimes cause confusion, we are always happy to answer questions and help clarify how the District operates.
