Why Backflow Devices Matter

Backflow prevention devices play a critical role in protecting the safety of our community’s drinking water.

These devices are designed to prevent contaminated water from flowing backward into the public water supply. Without proper backflow prevention, substances like fertilizers, chemicals, bacteria, or other pollutants from homes, businesses, or irrigation systems could enter the clean water system—posing serious health risks to everyone connected to it.

To ensure these devices function properly, regular testing and maintenance are required. The District’s Backflow Prevention Program exists to help safeguard the quality of our water and ensure compliance with local and state health regulations.

By maintaining your backflow device and staying up to date with required testing, you're helping protect not only your property but also the health of your neighbors and the broader community.

Clean, safe water starts with prevention. Thank you for doing your part.
